Adam Burgess
Founding Partner - Architecture
BSc BArch DipArch RIBA ARBAdam Graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture in 2002. He first worked with Eric Cole and Partners in the Cotswolds, working on small educational projects and listed residential work. He later worked for AWW and as a Senior Architect for Aedas, gaining significant experience on large commercial schemes including, infrastructure projects, residential schemes, offices headquarters and healthcare schemes. Adam has most recently worked with multi award winning practice AHMM, in Bristol, on a large educational project in Birmingham.
Adam founded Bright! with Robert Paul in 2007 and the practice has grown steadily since. Adam has a strong desire to produce high quality architectural solutions and believes that the highest design and environmental standards should be applied to a project no matter what its size and cost.

Adam Chequer
Architecural Assistant
Bsc BArchAdam is a highly motivated and conscientious architectural graduate committed to developing his career in environmentally responsible design. He is Flexible, innovative and takes pride in working to high standards. He recently joined Bright! after working with Adam Burgess at Aedas. Adam is a keen and enthusiastic member of the team with experience at all construction stages, he has a strong environmental and design bias and is a welcome addition to the team.

Kathryn Burgess
Practice managerMarried to Adam Burgess Kathryn has been with Bright since the beginning and provides an essential role in the day to day running of the practice.
Kathryn also helps in the creative process and her objectivity and honest feedback benefits all schemes produced at bright.

Robert Paul
Founding Partner –
Structural Engineering
BEng CEng MIStructERobert graduated from the University of Bath in 2001 and has worked for Curtins Engineers and Parsons Brinklehoff in Bristol.
Robert has extensive experience of engineering projects from conception to completion, on a wide variety of schemes, including both city centre and out of town retail schemes, schools, residential developments, refurbishment works and repair of historic structures. He has also worked with a variety of clients including private clients, developers, government bodies and contractors. Robert has acted as Project Engineer with full technical responsibility for this range of projects.
As a founding member of Bright, Robert has been with the practice since it started in 2007. He has also helped Adam develop the practice and his structural input at the earliest stages of the design process gives Bright! a unique dimension missing from most practices of its size.
